On the 5 July 2021, we were accredited as a Living Wage Employer and our Living Wage commitment ensures that all our lovely team receive at least a minimum hourly wage of £10.90, higher than the government minimum for over 23s, which currently stands at £10.42 per hour.

Being based in the Northwest, where 12.5% of all jobs pay less than the real Living Wage (that is around 367,000 jobs!) EF committed, two years ago, to pay the real Living Wage and deliver a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.

The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 450,000 people and put over £2 billion extra into the pockets of lower paid workers.

Sam Hill, Group HR Manager, commented: “Every business knows that their people are their greatest asset and they have the ability to see you through to success, so keeping them happy is essential and we wanted to demonstrate our commitment and ensure our employees earn a wage they can live on, especially in these times”.

Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We were delighted when EF-group joined us and over 12,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.

“They joined thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as Burberry, Barclays, Everton Football Club and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like EF-group, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”

Here at EF-group we are more than just a pay packet, our team’s well-being and mental health is supported by several wellness programmes alongside a good work life balance, which is why we have so many long-serving team members. When people join EF, they join a family and a friendly, helpful community.

Additionally, as well as the fundamental benefits you’d expect like a good pension and hybrid working, we have also invested in some additional perks that can help make life outside work more fun and give peace of mind such as; 24/7 access to online GP’s, wellness facilities, arranged social events, access to an online portal offering 1000s of discounts across a wide range of big brand retail, leisure and travel facilities.

We’ll also be celebrating in November as part of Living Wage Week which takes place from the 6 – 12 November 2023, who’s joining us?
